Hi everybody and welcome to my channel!
I build all sorts of DIY stuff.
The main focus of the channel is homemade electric transportation like scooters and bikes, however sometimes I include also other DIY stuff on cars, electronics, LED projects and so on.
And maybe even some woodworking and furniture.
I try to upload a video every 6 to 8 weeks. It takes so much time because I aim to publish only completed projects and not split them into multiple videos.

I built a custom rack to take my volkspod to the biggest aircooled meet of the year!

Now I built a custom rack for my 1973 Volkswagen Beetle to so I can take it with me.
The upper brackets bolt to the ventilation ribs, the lower brackets bolt to the bumper supports.
It is more than strong enough to hold the volkspod, which weighs around 35 kilograms.
If I unlock the upper brackets, the whole rack can hinge down so I have access to the engine.
I took the volkspod with me to the Bugshow 2024, the biggest aircooled meet here in Belgium, and people really seemed to like it.
Unfortunately I haven't driven it much because of the bad weather.

I winced a buit when you welded right next to the rear window, hope there aren't too many welding sparks stuck to the glass edit: the Spa footage was great, I read about it in the UK magazines, if I ever finish my Bay Window bus, one day I'd like to do the trip from here in the UK :)
To be honest I had to remove some spatter with a razor blade😏. Lots of guys from the UK make the trip, it's worth it!
@@hennybutabi I did a similar thing many years back on my first bay window van, I think i was grinding something, but i didn't notice until a few days later when I was driving and it got dark - headlights from oncoming cars made it look like I was looking through a bathroom window :)
What engine have you got in your beetle? Doesn’t sound like a normal boxer!
It's just a regular 1300 dual port. I have a 4 to 1 exhaust that is why it sounds a bit different.
Unfortunately I haven't driven it much because of the bad weather. Better luck next year :)

This thing is nuts! The steering mechanism is really impressive. I think you need to do a version with motors in the wheels and steering both wheels at the same to give you a super tight turning radius

make it a little bit bigger, add a couple of bucket seats and a trunk, make it an hybrid and you have a winner. As it is right now, it's just an expensive, unsellable toy for rich kids.
